In Shirley Jackson’s â€Å"The Lottery,† the subject of the story is significantly represented by Jackson’s one of a kind tone. When a year the locals assemble in the focal square for the lottery. The locals anticipate the appearance of Mr. Summers and the black box. Inside the black box are collapsed sheets of paper, one piece having a dark dab on it. All the locals at that point draw a bit of paper out of the case. Whoever gets the paper with the dark speck wins. Tessie Hutchinson wins the lottery!
